April 20th 2016, Mississippi native D. Horton released his highly anticipated album, The Sessions 2. The soulful singer-songwriter/rapper combines his desire for change and inspiration with lyricism and flow reminiscent of Andre 3000 and Tupac. The Sessions 2 begins with his hard-hitting single “The God Particle,” which reminds the listener of their true “god-like” potential combined with a beat that matches his swift wordplay. The 15 song project is full of inspirational messages combined with a soulful passion and vocal conviction that is unique to the artist. “Black Butterfly” is another favorite that shows a different dynamic to D. Horton. The artist sings about the beauty of the black woman while giving an introspective take on the different qualities that make the black woman so beautiful. The sessions 2 full of magic to see the least, simply good music. Within 23 hours of releasing the project it became one of the top selling albums on band camp, proving that D. Horton isn’t a force to be reckoned with as a true artist for our feature. Without further adieu take a second to check out The Sessions 2.
