Sunday December 10, Lithouse reopened for the final time of 2017. The night kicked off at Syndicate Lounge beginning with a cypher featuring local MC’s freestyling over beats from local producers. Artist/DJ extraordinaire The Prblms provided the tunes for the night and artist Devonte Holt worked on a masterpiece on stage live painting for all to see. The most hilarious and flyest dressed person in the room, Mr. Dean Priest hosted the event and began with some opening words and jokes prior to performances starting. The performances kicked off at 8pm beginning with live jam band Naps 205. The band combined live acoustic instrumentation, soulful vocals and rapping to create a one of a kind experience. Next, the one and only Folly of Youth graced the stage. Her performance featured guest appearances from the beautiful and soulful Kenya Latrice, Terrance Wimberly and the mysterious Young Blood. Glass of wine in one hand, microphone in the other Folly definitely didn’t disappoint. Next was Birmingham’s own Kakashi to take the stage. Kakashi brings the energy everywhere he goes and this night wasn’t any different. Lastly, 63’s own Wynt Earley came cool as ever with his laid back delivery and smooth wordplay to close out the show. Throughout the night proceeds were generated for the National Business League of Alabama, as co-founder Arden Blackwell talked about the potentiality of black business through group economics. Overall the night had vibes like no other and showed that Lit House has created a community. A community through art and music that genuinely supports, loves, and encourages one another. Take a look at all the pictures, shot and edited by one of the illest most beautiful people to work a camera in Birmingham; Sheleka Laseter of Miyako Studios. Till next time! ⚡️🏠⚡️
